Showcats

Formed in late 1999, Showcat are a four-piece outfit based in Edinburgh who peddle power-pop with hooks big enough to hang yer winter coat on.

We have been compared to Supergrass,
Ben Folds Five, Teenage Fanclub and Mansun.
We like these bands and others of a similar ilk.The band have built up a substantial live following on the back of a number of gigs in and around the capital city over the last couple of years and hope that they are destined for great things.

Grahame
The Cats' sound features soaraway vocals, jangly guitars, driving keyboards and melodies that will annoyingly float around your head for eons.

Bryan Clark (left in picture) is Showcat's front man and songwriter. With an ear for a good tune, he is a law lecturer by day and author of many truly fascinating law texts.

Grahame (inset) provides Showcat's bottom end.
A jazz man at heart his nifty bass fretwork has saved the band from power-ballad hell on numerous occasions. Ed (right in picture) is a classically trained pianist who is too lazy to play with both hands. He annoys other band members by playing their instruments better than they do.

Cal (centre in picture) provides the backbone to the Showcat sound with intricate sticks-work and pulsating rhythms. Also responsible for helium-fuelled backing vocals, these cannot be detected on the audio tracks as only dogs can hear them.
